Came across this video this morning. Reminded me how much Miyamoto changed video games and my life. Super Mario Brother was the first video game I was addicted to. I spent so much time at the local 7-11 and I don't want to know how much money I spent on that stupid game.

My mind was so blown when I got the NES and had what seemed to be an arcade-perfect version of SMB.

When it showed up on my TV it was the first time I remember thinking "there goes sleep". I can't remember how many late nights I spent as I tired to beat it. I remember the moment I did, it was around 630am and my mother was surprised that I had gotten up on time to get ready for school for once. I never had the heart to tell her that I hadn't slept that night.

My favorite NES games were Super Mario Bros. 2, Tetris, Micro Machines and Legend of Zelda.

I sucked at SMB 1 and 3

I remember first playing the NES at a babysitters house. I was crazy for Super Mario Bros. Then one day while sitting in the bath at home I heard the familiar beeps and boops and jumped out of the tub, ran in the hallway and into the living room buck naked and dripping all over the carpet and screamed at my mother "THAT'S MARIO!!!!" I was 5 at the time and had just gotten my very first gaming system. :D I remember playing until about 11pm when my mother gave up and went to bed but let me continue because it was a Friday night with no school in the morning. (I was usually in bed by by 7) I think it was around 2 or 3 am when my mother walked out of her bed room and DEMANDED I put the game up immediately. It no longer mattered it was Saturday, she would NOT take no for an answer.

Ah, memories. *sigh*
