its about all round excellence in sports dude
anyway i am not saying they shudnt go watch games but i'd take a few fans not filling the stands if that means lesser 'popular' sports get more support and win national titles

well like it or not, its the diversity of ppl who attend the school
California has a lot more to offer than alabama or oklohoma
u cant scrutinize a team coz it attracts a diverse crowd and ppl are into other stuff besides watching football teams and they live in a state has more to offer

as a hardcore ucla fan, i find it sad you're saying usc sucks because no one goes to their games (you know sometimes there are some sections they won't sell...) and that people were watching a water polo match.
there is more than ONE college sport out there and the best schools are not necessarily those that dominate in one but well rounded in all.
i also find it funny that the rankings find usc 1 and you're calling them a crappy team.
yes they did lose to cal in triple OT. of course they were coming off a bye week and cal was hyped up to play them. it could practically be predicted they were going to let cal into that game. notice how it didn't happen again as they resumed blowing everyone else, including my bruins, out of the water. they do happen to play in the pac10 and therefore wind up playing a weak schedule because not all the teams are that great in football. teams aren't always going to schedule the strongest teams to play during the season. sc always plays nd - usually a lot better than they are. auburn turned out to be a bust. hawaii turned into.... hawaii...

They lost to an unranked and terrible CAL team. The only reason they are ranked number one is that they get to play subpar opponents and they got to lose early. I almost wish that USC and LSU would have both lost and that they played each other. The 62-0 ass whipping that LSU would have given USC would have been classic.

Funny how the people who know football best, the coaches of the football teams themselves, put USC as #1. But I guess fans who have nothing better to than making weak arguments in which they can only attack the fanbase know better.
I'm sorry if other people have a life outside of college football. I mean theres probably only well over 50 colleges in the LA area alone. Seriously, get a life man.

What good team has USC beaten? What team with more than 9 wins has USC beaten? What unranked team has beaten USC? They've beat FOUR teams with a winning record and people say they should be number one. They've played, what, ONE top 25 team and NO Top 10 teams? Yeah, actually, they do suck, and they don't deserve to be in the top 25.

So USC fans are PISSED that they were left out of the championship game. They they they were snubbed. Well, if they want to say that, then they have to say LSU was snubbed out of the number one ranking, because USC lost to a top 20 team by 3 points, whereas, USC lost to an unranked team by 3, and OU got blown out by a top 20 team. Why shouldn't LSU be number one? USC has no gripe unless LSU is number one.

Well, why didn't they sell out the stadium. You people can argue with the "better" things to do argument all day long, but what was the "better" thing over watching the #2 team in the nation play? LA has millions of people and can't even put 80k people into a stadium. To me that is sad. LA didn't want an NFL team and they don't support their best college team, so why should USC even have a football team?
Because USC fans need to admit that their team shouldn't even be in the top 25. They haven't played but FOUR teams with a winning record and they lost to CAL.
