So I rma'd my motherboard and just got it back today. I hooked everything back up almost identical to the way it was before. Note: I'm doubt I'm using the same power connectors on the same devices before the rma. The other change was that I added a mobile hdd rack to the system.

Having said that, I'm having post problems. When I use 1 power connector on either my of my 2 hdd's or optical drive, it boots fine. If I try to connect 2/3 of the drives, the computer will not post consistently. Rarely, it will boot with all 3 devices connected. It should be noted that even when I disconnect the ide/sata cables and try to boot with 2/3 or 3/3 drives connected to the power supply, it still will not show any video or beep.

The power supply is an Antec True480. Maybe this was my problem all along? Read THIS THREAD for more info about my past problems and why I originally rma'd my mobo.

According to Asus Probe, the only thing that's low is the 3.3v line. It's around 3.24 which should be acceptable.

Tomorrow I'm going to rearrange some devices and see if I can't get any results. I'll also try a new power supply and see what happens.

Complete specs:
Athlon FX-53
Asus A8V Deluxe (Freshly rma'd)
1gb Corsair pc3200LL
120GB wd hdd in mobile rack
74GB raptor
Plextor cd-rw
Geforce 4 Ti4600
Audigy 2 zs platinum
Antec True480 psu

its prolly the power supply if thoes problems dont occur until you hit that issue with the devices connected. adjust the leads anywa? maybe the screw driver trick for the antecs might fix everything?

Well, I removed all drives from the system and only had power going to the mobo (2 power connectors) and the power to the floppy drive. After I did that, it still wouldn't boot up every time -- maybe 2 out of 3 times.
I'm going to reseat the video card/ram and may try different ram if that doesnt help. Basically take it to bare bones and see what happens.

So far I'm really not impressed with the showing from this mobo (if it is indeed the motherboard).

Update: Alrighty, I'm pretty upset here. I was able to disconnect EVERYTHING from the system with the exception of mobo, cpu, mem, video, power supply. After I did that, I would STILL have the occasional non-post situation. When it won't post, I get no video signal, hdd light constantly lights up (even with no drives connected) and I get no beeps or anything -- just fans.

I tried a different video card and it would still get the occasional "non-post". Also tried different ram and still the same result.

Should I try a new power supply? Keep in mind that this wasn't the same problem I had before I rma'd this board. It's really pointing to another bad board to me.

I'm really considering getting my freakin money back and getting an MSI K8N Neo2.
