Not a bad looking device. Steep price though, compared to the Viewsonic GTablet's sub-400 dollar price tag.

CPU
Nvidia Tegra 2 T20 Dual ARM Cortex -A9 (1Ghz)
3D acceleration GPU Flash 10.1
OS
Android 2.2 Froyo, Flash 10.1
Memory
1GB DDR2 Ram, 16GB Nandflash built in
Extend Memory up to 32GB via SD card
Screen
10.1" Capacitive Multitouch
WSVGA 1024*600

Looking at some of threads in the XDA Forums, looks like Malata actuall makes the Viewsonic Gtablet and the Woow! Tegra tablet as well. Lots of ROM potential, but the Viewsonic can be had for under 400, and sometimes hits 280 on sale.

Those Viewsonic tablets are pretty bad in stock form, a lot of people are reporting picking up the viewxonic tablets in Sears outlet stores for ~$300, then installing a decent os on them...

Most tablets are, but the Viewsonic is pretty open so its easy to get the stock firmware off and through custom stuff on. From what I've read on XDA, CM really flies on the GTablet.

you gotta be careful with the tablets, there are a lot of no name brands that are complete junk. i tried the one that is sold in borders last week and i couldnt believe how poor the performance was and how bad/unresponsive the touch screen was

Supposedly the one in Borders (nook color) is very good. You just have to replace the os on it. Unfortunately (from the instructions) this is a bit difficult. There are rumors it will be upgraded to andriod 2.2 but conflicting report if it will be open or close when the upgrade is released (what I mean by open/close is if borders release will allow free form usage or if they will lock down their interface; naturally due to license they have to release the sources and hackers can change it as desire).

I was reading the XDA Dev forums and apparently the SDK is supposed to be released next week. There are already some nice ROMs for it but once the SDK is released we should see the true potential of that tablet. I will be getting mine for Christmas and am sooo excited lol.

Barnes and Noble sells the nook color. Borders sells their own Kobo e-ink reader, and sells several other devices from Sony. I think the tablet you're referring to is one of Velocity Micro's Cruz products? And yes, those do kinda blow.
