My Cox.Net connection connects [obviously] and everything except my browser works just fine. I can't seem to connect to anything.

If you are wondering how I'm posting this then, its because I have citrix'd in to my work and using the remote browser.

All my current browser settings haven't changed...same was as it was this morning when everything worked.

Anyone have a clue?

Can you ping by IP address?

Try pinging 216.171.129.13
Then try pinging yahoo.com

Sounds to me like you are having a problem resolving DNS.

They've been having some strange problems around the Tulsa area lately. Had a DNS problem last week that they were clueless about until I called in to find out what was going wrong and they said they didn't know. I told them it seemed like a DNS problem to me, the guy put me on hold for a while and then had me talk to an engineer, gave him a few things to look for and bingo they were back up in about 15 minutes. SOunds like it's happening to your area now.

See thats what I thought. So instead of going and 'finding' a dns address I assigned one that I knew was a right one. Still no go...so I guess I just have to wait and see? or is there a better solution?

Last night, I couldn't even get connected. Man, I'm getting sick of cox.net

They have had their heads up their asses lately. All I can tell you to do is call and bitch at them. I was down for 2 days a month or so ago due to some line probs and I called and bitched until they gave me a free month of service.

Call the techie and talk to him and see if they have a clue. Then tomorrow call and speak to a CSR and let them know how sick of thier shizt you are. It's especially helpful if you get the name of the tech and tell the CSR that he told you they didn't have a clue about what the problem was. The love to hear that.
