I've got a friend that can't access his Word documents. He's got a 1 year old Gateway, PIII 733, 20GB HDD. Every time that he tries to access a Word document the computer just locks up and then shuts down. We've tried un-installing Office 2000 and re-installing - no dice! When it locks up if you try the three finger salute (Ctrl-Alt-Del) it says that the computer is dangerously low on resources and recommends freeing up resources by shutting down other applications. The only problem is that just before attempting to access a document the resource meter shows at least 75% free! Any ideas?
