Here's a tricky question: I need to update my video driver for a VIVO GF2

Hi there,

I still have my trusted Asus GF2 v7700 Deluxe card, and I'm wondering if I should try to update the drivers... the problem is, ASUS has ceased to make drivers for this model (duh!) and I don't want to download any generic nVidia drivers, for fear that i'd lose my VIVO capabilities.

Short of buying a new card, what am I supposed to do?

I wouldn't update your driver unless you really needed to. The newer drivers are really for Geforce6 series.

With my FX5900 VIVO, I needed to download 2.2 wdm-vivo file from Nvidia site in order to get VIVO to work. Install both the newest Dets and wdm-vivo drivers for VIVO.

Well, for those who wonder - the thing is... I still have the 12.xx drivers... so I'm thinking an update might be OK 🙂

:Q Are you running Windows 95?

Nope, w2k sp4.

Funny enough, except for the latest Unreal, FarCry, Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 (four games which I haven't tried yet), I can still play all the games I'm trying... at 1024x768, no less 🙂
