Here's a tip on how to get your worn out mousepad super slick for cheap

I have a func 1030 mousepad that's over two years old. Needless to say, it's worn out and no longer as slick as it once was (I use the smooth side). My friend suggested spraying Pledge on it, I thought he was crazy but he spray it on there behind my back. holy crap, that stuff is awesome!!! The mouse glides over the mousepad just as smoothly if not more smoothly than it did when it was new. The stuff he used was the regular clean and dust spray can, but I'm sure other types of Pledge you have around your house will work.

Wow... it really did work :Q

I have the Thunder 8 mousepad and I also use the smooth side... was getting all nasty and rough though. Thanks 😀

i have an old ratzpad that ive used pledge on for a long time with my mx510. just ordered an icemat 2nd editino though hmmm cant wait

Sure but how long will it last? You could do the same with pretty much any waxing or soaping product, and it's going to wear and gunk up the underside of the mouse probably. Pledge at least is easy to apply though and probably cheaper than one of these high-class mouse pads.

It's been a few days and it's still very smooth with no gunk or anything rubbing off.

Sounds like it's time to keep a can of Pledge on the desk or in the drawer. It does make sense, - it is a no wax formula, and is a furniture polish. The active ingredient is mineral oil.

1,3,5-Tris(trifluoropropyl)trimethylcyclotrisiloxane
d-Limonene
Mineral oil USP

Why not use silicone spray lubricant?

CAUTION: NEVER, EVER spray this stuff near or over a floor where people walk. Disastrous results are likely to occur if you do not heed the warning!

Because Pledge is something that many people already have.
