Here's a euphemism Ive never heard before.

eu·phe·mism   [yoo-fuh-miz-uhm]
noun
1.
the substitution of a mild, indirect, or vague expression for one thought to be offensive, harsh, or blunt.
2.
the expression so substituted: “To pass away” is a euphemism for “to die.”

ridiculous made up terminology on which the author seems to spend most of their creative effort is the reason most sci-fi sucks.

I'm getting images of a warzone that uses bodies as a form of ammunition and the term refers to there being so many bodies, the entrails are making their own form of mud that covers the battlefield.

I like a little more alliteration in mine.

An old friend from Pensacola has the Deep South version of Archie Bunker for a dad, this old guy would always crack everyone up with sayings that make you go 'wuuuuuuuut'

Example, one scorching August he walks up to us and says "Shheeeyit, it is hotter out here than a freshly fucked fox in a forest fire!"

lol

I first read that phrase in National Lampoon about 35 yrs ago: It was
"Hotter than a half-fucked fox in a forest fire".
Hurts my brain whenever someone misquotes it.
