Dear Radio One,
My name is Iyende Palmore and I am thirteen years old. I was a current listener of one of your radio stations (107.9 in Cleveland, Ohio). I was extremely disgusted when I heard an R. Kelly song played on the station. I felt it was tasteless to play a song by someone who has no moral values and is a child molester/rapist.
What kind of message are you saying to your audience? You know that 107.9 has black listeners. Your audience associates with the station and the music. It's "culture". Why on earth would anyone with any sense in their head want to associate with that? Let me put it another way, would you play music that was racist slander to the black community? I didn't think so.
I urge you to take that and ALL of his songs off of ALL play lists. Please. You should take your audiences feelings into account. By playing his music you are condoning his actions. I am highly offended by your ignorant actions! And I know that there are other people, white or black, who can agree with me. I ask you again, please take his songs off and acknowledge what kind of person R. Kelly is.
