Rubbish

A whole lot of rambling crap from Bono et al. to explain away why people aren't buying their last album which was so bad I felt ripped off after a friend gave it to me for free. That's now two pieces of digital diarrhea in a row for them (previous album was mostly crap, too).

Used to be my favorite group, too, but we all know in time every band starts sh*ting at the record studio and pretending it's music. Linkin Park is still going straight to hell when they die for their last one.

U2 is struggling to grab new listeners. Its members admit to frustration at the average album sales for its most recent release and wonder, as bassist Adam Clayton put it, whether the idea of an impassioned rock 'n' roll fan is becoming a thing of the past.

LOL, someone should teach them about garbage in/garbage out.

Write music that is relevant and fucking good and people will buy it. Novel concept.

Rolling Stone loved the shit out of their tour and album. I've yet to see a negative review of a mega-groups work yet.

lol they just suck now.
Their old stuff was timeless. If joshua tree was released today, i bet that shit would sell like hotcakes.

It's sad when "Elevation" seems like a good song by comparison.

Oh well, we'll always have The Joshua Tree.

I was a somewhat impassioned U2 fan many years ago. The passion went away sometime around Zooropa and was beaten to a bloody corpse by Pop.

AHHHHHHHHhahahahahahhaa,hahahahahahhahahhhhhaaaahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHHHAHAHAAHAHAH, {breath in} HAAHAHAHHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.

I cannot take the complaints of the self-absorbed- filthy- rich seriously.
Perhaps try being relevant, Mr.Boner. If your survival was dependant on that album, it might contain something meaningful. Other than a directive to put on one's "boots" and 'get to work', that is.
Try giving it all away and starting over, jackass.

I've never made it a secret that I do not like U2 but there is a massive difference between their early work which, musically, is somewhat interesting to listen to and the shit they put out now. They're a one trick pony and that trick is good but they've deviated from it. It's much like if AC/DC started writing bullshit self-important music. They release the same fucking record over and over but it's fun to listen to at least once. U2 went all weird 10 years ago and just never could recover their trick.

Now it's almost like a joke. The Edge tours with 42 different guitars. 42 fucking guitars. If that isn't self-important and excessively spinal tap esque then I really have no idea what is.

Haha, I also heard but cannot confirm that for their tour they came through Boston fairly recently and need ONE HUNDRED tractor trailers for all their lighting and stage crap.

If you need this much equipment to create slapback/echo easy as fuck to play guitar riffs then something is definitely wrong. Stop bringing a city's worth of equipment with you and write some good songs. Excess++

Personally I wouldn't piss on Bono if he were on fire. They need to shut up and just go away.

I can't believe I made it half way through that article. I almost closed it at the beginning when he said things were getting rougher in America and that he'd been in contact with Obama about America needing to pour more cash into AIDs infested Africa. That guy is such a self important douche. Sunday Bloody Sunday was preachy, but at least it was a good song. And then he complains things are changing when they hastily squirt out yet another turd record and it only sells a million. Poor baby. Maybe he'll have to forgo the solid gold toilet in his private jet and just get the sterling silver one instead.

While all that gear is cool as shit, bringing it around while touring is just obscene.

The problem is Bono becoming a self righteous king mother f-er know it all in charge of everything.

I've always said you need to be hungry to make good music. The minute that desperation and fear go away, you lose your talent
