The "PC2700" RAM part has me worried. They've neutered Intel chipsets with old RAM before and if you're buying a $1000 laptop, you want to get one that uses DDR2 RAM. Now more than likely, it is a typo; but check into it.

Otherwise its okay.

i agree. isn't it a compatibility issue too? ddr with core duo?

what are you using this for? just for school? cause it has integrated graphics

Yep, strictly for school.
It is 2700, so i guess i should exchange it for DDR2 based?
I'm not too knowledged in the technicalities of these things, if you don't mind explaining why it's not good.
It's basically for surfing and word processing, that's it.

These prices are Canadian, so anything less than $1000 list is fine. Max i'll go over is $1150

For the price, I'd go for something better. Toshibas generally use Toshiba hard drives, which are crap.

Perhaps a MacBook is an option? They start at 1000$ USD after educational discount, and are lighter, more powerful, and more reliable.
Also, some colleges will give you an iPod.
