Jonathan Richardson (J.R.) Bass was a famous ossified man exhibited by Barnum for many years. He allegedly died in a fire when an attendant, who was carrying him to safety, dropped him and his brittle bones shattered...

cool site. Gross tho. I get freak out when I see conjoined twins, so I'm not gonna look at that section.

Woah... dude...

Blanche Dumas was born on the island of Martinique in 1860, to a French father and a mother who was one-quarter black. She had a third leg attached to her sacrum, and her two primary legs were said to be imperfectly developed. The third leg was without a mobile joint but had a bend in it where the knee would have been. Her pelvis was wider than normal and she had double genitalia as well as a duplicate bowel and bladder. Most remarkably, Blanche had two small rudimentary breasts situated at the junction of the parasitic twin with her own body. Each had a nipple, but they were non-functional. Stories of Blanche all mention her pronounced libido. She moved to Paris later in life and became a courtesan, and allegedly, upon hearing about the three-legged man, dos Santos, who was touring at the same time, she expressed a desire to have sex with him. According to Gould and Pyle, "There were two vaginae and two well-developed vulvae, both having equally developed sensations. The sexual appetite was markedly developed, and coitus was practised in both vaginae."

2????? now that is crazy

Read more - there are. Several conjoined twins. I imagine nowadays parents have a little more dignity than put their deformed kids on parade for nickels :(

Fascinating link.

Couldn't believe how some of them could be true (3-legged footballer for example). Did Googling for some of them - found all of them to be a reality!

I'm quite sure the third leg was not productive

Edit: I meant that in a way that he would have no advantage in real world situations, like sports. It was productive in the sense that he could in fact kick a soccer ball with it, but not better than a normal person of his athletic ability I'd wager.
