There is this cute girl at the Albertsons I frequent. So today while she's at the counter, I'm going to ask her by handing her my business card since usually there are people behind me in line. My business card has a little note that I put in, which says, 'My colleague is having a party tonight. You should come. Call me.'

Wish me luck.

oh and I'll keep you updated.

could work, though the business card thing might come of a little to... well... wrong, seems you could be trying to be important and trying to impress her with your status. Just hand her a little note and rather ask when she is finished working and talk to her then.

I'd do the note thing. What do I put on a note? I've never done random things before and this seems fun.

Just put, "Call me after you get off work?" ?

You should be more direct.

"What time do you get off work? Going to a party tonight and I'd be honored if you'd accompany me."

Period.

Not sure what to write, but try to make it seem like you are doing the work, you are calling her you are asking her and she just has nothing to loose.

That's right thereds...

I always say

"No guts, no glory"

Or better,

"No balls, no calls"

Or,

" Take your stand, or use your hand"

I'll 2nd (err.. 3rd?) that motion, just walking up and slipping her a note when you don't even really know her is kind of wierd, most of the girls I know would probably just laugh at you and tell all her friends how "some goofy guy tried to slip me a note asking me out today!?!"

Just don't say the words "honored if you would accompany me" because she'll want to make a friend out of you or worse think that you are a dweeb. :) Just be direct and come out and say I like you, would like to get to know you and we can get the ball rolling by you going out with me tonight. Don't play games, be direct and honest or she might shoot you down.
What's the worst that can happen? If she says no thanks then just say OK, well it was just a thought and move on.

Oh please. Sooooo elementary school. Talk about sounding like a dweeb....

My line will catch her completely off guard. That's what you want. Even if you get a stammering "yes" or "sure, 6 o'clock" it's a yes.

Thereds. If she gets out of work much earlier than the party will start, do not drop the ball. Take her somewhere to eat (NOT TACO BELL)or find something else interesting to fill in the time.

Then to the party you will go. If there's any cuties there, send 'em my way.

Well so much for that adventure.

She's got the ever-so-present ring on the dreaded finger.

She told me she was engaged.
