I have a funny idea, make the ultimate keyboard. Why do we spend so much just to please the eyes? We are in tactile contact with something that could be stimulating us back. This is where it gets funny. Have anodized aluminum keys, have them contact an environment plate as they descend into the keyboard. Offer stimulating massage (maybe helping reduce carpal tunnel) and forced heating for cold days (small fan blowing heated air or just air for those warmer days, which could be climate controlled from your keyboard loader software). Place a small processing unit in it, with some permanent memory and have it do a little A.I. routine that learns the patterns of your mistakes and corrects them as you type (could even know which user is using it easy enough by which typing speed pattern is detected - everyone thinks and therefore types a little differently, so as you type it will kind of read the speed of your keystrokes and find patterns. It could examine your intent (based on a pattern it will affix by word usage, thereby learning your vocabulary and make it easier to fix misspellings (all the different types of) as you go - wouldn't need to have a TSR software to do it in your business software. It could easily be programmed through the usb port for dictionary upgrades or language changes. It could fix grammar too with clever enough programming. Think of expansion modules for types of businesses. Priced around $300 bucks, it could be the Ferrari(or Mclaren) of keyboards.

Ok, heres the deal. If anyone actually starts making them, I want one free......:D

..................edit to expand idea....................
Put the massage unit in a gel wrist rest that is attached.

KeyTronic's 2001 keyboards rock.

Have two of the Lifetime series at home.

Yeah, Rogue, those Plycon keyboards are cool - I was suprised at how well you can type on them. The idea of a keyboard I can roll up and put in my backpack (or back pocket) is just nice. There's a similar one sold at the CompUSA close to us under the name "The Indestructable Keyboard" - fitting, as they're spillproof and bendable - bendable, heck, you can wad them in a ball!

Hmm, looks like any other keyboard. I would much rather get something more ergonomic... Why would anyone buy a non-ergonomic keyboard, anyway? Their shape sucks.

I have had the logitech cordless r/f kb/mouse for about 4 years now. I will never switch brands. I hate my mouse at work...it is right handed! being left handed the ergo crap mices bother me like hell!. I would have jumped on a logitech wireless/optical mouse combo, but they don't provide a universal mouse with it only that damn right handed version. oh well. when will they realize that there are a larger % of computer users that are left-handed(~23%) than then the general population (8%)

Unless you plan to move your keyboard around a lot (like for a home entertainment system) I don't see why you'd want a wireless keyboard. I'd rather not have to deal with even the slightest extra lag time when playing games.

And yes, that focus keyboard works very well.

Optical keyboards with their drivers/software/gui are just bloatware to me. Just give me a ps2 natural, and I'm happy.

A cult exists worshiping the old IBM PS/2 keyboard. It was the best ever made. It can be bought used for a few bucks. A used PS/2 keyboard will last far longer than most current-day keyboards bought new.

the ibm's were the good ol' clickity ones ppl liked... anyway.. i hate the logitech keyboards.. i don't like the keys. The microsoft one is better.. but after 1.5yrs.. gotta get a new one.. and the natural pro is too expensive (got mine for $25 :p) to replace. So using this ibm basic keyboard.. $10.. black.. nice keys. Just wish there some decent ergo ones for $25-$30.. don't need usb or fancy buttons...

That's an interesting statement. Do you have a source?
