I have asked this question before, but got no real answer, so here goes again. I have a 2PC cat5 crossover cable lan. Both computers run Windows 2000 professional, one is connected to the internet via a cable modem and an NIC with a static IP, and the other is online via ICS. I want to run a gameserver on the client machine, but of course it has to connect to the internet. I know this can be done because I was able to do it before with Win XP. Unfortunatly it cannot be done the same was with win2k. The way I did it before was to go into the internet connections properties and go to sharing>settings>services, and set up a gameserver service that pointed to the client PC and opened the necessary game port. I have tried this til I am blue in the face with 2k but no luck. I will not go back to XP for reasons I will not discuss here, but anyway, somebody has to know how I can do this?!?
