:music:I don?t know where I?m going
But, I sure know where I?ve been
Hanging on the promises
In songs of yesterday
An? I?ve made up my mind,
I ain?t wasting no more time
But, here I go again
Here I go again

Tho? I keep searching for an answer,
I never seem to find what I?m looking for
Oh lord, I pray
You give me strength to carry on,
?cos I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams

An? here I go again on my own
Goin? down the only road I?ve ever known,
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
An? I?ve made up my mind
I ain?t wasting no more time

I?m just another heart in need of rescue,
Waiting on love?s sweet charity
An? I?m gonna hold on
For the rest of my days,
?cos I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams

An? here I go again on my own
Goin? down the only road I?ve ever known,
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
An? I?ve made up my mind
I ain?t wasting no more time

But, here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go...

An? I?ve made up my mind,
I ain?t wasting no more time

An? here I go again on my own
Goin? down the only road I?ve ever known,
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
?cos I know what it means
To walk along the lonely street of dreams

An? here I go again on my own
Goin? down the only road I?ve ever known,
Like a drifter I was born to walk alone
An? I?ve made up my mind
I ain?t wasting no more time...

But, here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go again,
Here I go,
Here I go again...

Funny how Whitesnake recycled songs. That song was on one of their earlier albums, arranged a bit differently with the lyrics slightly changed.
The most obvious change I remember was the old song said:
"Like a Hobo I was born to walk alone" instead of the lyrics you have above.

I believe another of their 80's hits was a recycled song, too.

Saw Whitesnake on an HD concert last month....Coverdale can still sing very well.

Okay, I read some of it. Also, I see your Iron Maiden and White Snake and raise you a Jimi Hendrix - Highway Chile and The Eels - Lone Wolf.

Don't raise me that big man.

Whitesnake cant compare to Jimi.

I was just indulging in some hair rock. Humor me :)

I had flashbacks to American Psycho reading that.
Patrick Bateman FTW!

Run for the Hills is awesome. I thank ATOT for introducing that to me!

Better Whitesnake song:

You talk too much,
Never saying what's on your mind,
It's written on your face,
An' in the words you hide behind.
I know what you want,
I can see what you're looking for,
I know what you want from me,
An' I'm gonna give you more.

I'm gonna slide it in
Right to the top,
Slide it in,
I ain't never gonna stop.
Slide it in,
Right to the top,
I'm gonna slide it in, slide it in,
Slide it, in baby.

Sometimes you seem
Just like a stranger to me,
But, all the games you play
Make it so easy to see.
You're looking for love,
Tho' you try to deny,
The things you put me through
Tell me what I've got to do to you.

I'm gonna slide it in,
Right to the top,
Slide it in,
I ain't never gonna stop.
Slide it in,
Right to the top,
I'm gonna slide it in, slide it in.

(Solo)

You talk too much,
Always treating me so unkind,
I know what I've got to do,
To get me some peace of mind.

I'm gonna slide it in,
Right to the top,
Slide it in,
I ain't never gonna stop.
Slide it in,
Right to the top,
I'm gonna slide it in, slide it in,
Slide it in,
Right to the top.
Slide it in,
I ain't never gonna stop.
Slide it in,
Right to the top,
I'm gonna slide it in, slide it in, slide it,
Slide it in, slide it in,
Right to the top, baby.

Overrated. Listen to Hallowed Be Thy Name or Alexander the Great if you really want to be impressed.

I tried listening to some Iron Maiden. It was all poppy, not heavy duty enough. The only song I could really get into was Murders in the Rue Morgue.

I have a CD with Whitesnake's greatest hits. Pretty good stuff.
Except that I was never really crazy about this particular song. I think 'Is this love' is a much more solid rock composition (and music video to it with Tawny is much better than Drifter's video)

Run for the Hills was one of the first tracks I went for. Didn't and don't like it. I suppose it doesn't help that my idea of metal is At the Gates and In Flames, and 70s/80s stuff tends to sound like pop music to me.

The opening to the song is great, the rest - not so much so...

Iron Maiden does have a little bit of a pop sound at times, but surely there's got to be more songs than MitRM that you'd like. Have you listened to Losfer Words or Where Eagles Dare? Both are pretty heavy.

I think Iron Maiden and *shudder* Whitesnake have a lot more class to them then the rest of the "Hair Bands".

Never listened to Whitesnake. Metallica's Ride the Lightning is pretty good for thrash, when it comes to not being offensive or cheesy. Call of the Ktulu is awesome.
