Here comes another dumb question Pioneer DVD.

Hehe, this really may seem stupid, but I just have to make it clear 😀 Sorry for being such a dummie 😱

I'm going to buy a video card with tv-output, sb live! 5.1 for dolby digital sounds and a dvd player. Then I noticed this when checking out that Pioneer DVD-116:

"Digital audio output/SPDIF not supported"

Do I need that to be still able to get my 5.1 dolby digital sounds? With my common sense, I cant see that I would need that option in my DVD player, but..... 😕

What the DVD drive is missing is the little 2-pin digital output on the drive itself. This won't affect your ability to watch DVDs and output Dolby Digital from your SBLive. You won't even miss that capability. I have one of those Pioneer drives and it works very well.

No.

Ok, thank's alot Workin', I appreciate your help!
So my choice for DVD shall be the Pioneer.

Good for you! I have the Creative 12x with the spdif out & it sucks. I wish I'd bought the Pioneer.
