Highly Technical should be moved to Social... since a lot of the highly technical stuff, rarely has to do with Hardware (computer hardware).
Speakers and Sounds should be eliminated, because Home Theatre covers that
Automotive should be reduced down to just the 2 sub-categories of General (where we can talk about cars), and Mechanics and Support. Automotive Electronics will either fall under General if we're talking about it, or Mechanics and Support if we need help.
Technical Support should be moved under Hardware and Technical... the support category should be more about forum support. And if you stick it into Hardware and Technical, maybe people will actually start posting Tech Support questions in the proper forum, rather under General Hardware.
If your goal is to really expand AT forums beyond just technical stuff... maybe add a section like Home and Garden, Food and Drink, Personal Finance and Careers.
EDIT: Also, a Video section for the Consumer Electronics would probably be good too.
