so i bought a gametheater soundcard about a year and a half ago.. recently it crapped out and the sound is just miserable now, muffled and weak from the main speaker outs. also, the digital outs on the back don't work at all anymore. anyways, 3 weeks ago i RMA'd the sucker. came back in the mail yesterday.. still broken. called them this evening and they insist it was fine so they sent it back. i tried it on my roommate's computer, tried it after reinstalling winxp, and tried about a million other things.. IT IS BROKEN! anyways, these jerks now want me to send it back again (another $20 in shipping) so the customer service guy can "check it out himself." i bet this guy is also the janitor and the ceo as well. damn i hate this company.

hmm, I've had 2 guillemot (the company that owns hercules) vid cards in the past. A 3Dfx Banshee and a TNT2 Ultra. The TNT2U was DOA when I got it and they took real good care of me. They cross shipped me a new one no questions asked and I was back up in a few days...

I've had problems with my gametheater too. the damn box that it comes with starts to go bad. the speaker connections in the back get loose, and it messes up the sound. too bad you can't use the card without the box.

Just because one company owns another doesn't necessarily have an impact on customer service. They're still separate entities with separate CS departments.
