Hercules video cards

What happened to the Hercules video card brand? Did they just go out of business, or were they bought up by another company, or did they change their name?

Just curious, found a Hercules 3D Prophet II (GeForce 2) in an old computer...

Defunct - acquired by ELSA technology, inc., then by Guillemot

Edit: I still mourn the loss of Number Nine. Their cards were *awesome* back in the day.

They changed their name to Guillemot, and they still make video cards. I don't think they sell cards in the US anymore, so they can be hard to get.

I loved my Hercules GeForce256.

Still got a Hercules Radeon 9700 Pro running strong. A beast with copper ramsinks.
