Hercules GTXP and ADA880W Speakers 5.1 or not?

K..I just ordered a set of the ADA880W from dell (hope they'll ship)..now the question is:
If I plug the ADA880W into the GTXP using the S/PDIF output on the back of the GTXP, will I or will I not be getting a 5.1 signal? or will it be 2 channel stereo?

If its not 5.1, how the hell am I gonna connect the ADA880W to the GTXP using the analog connections, being that the ADA880W has one analog connector and the GTXP has 6...?

TIA

Hi,

It depends on the setting of the SPDIF out in the GTXP control panel. If you set it to main outputs, you'll get two channel (front L + R), which you can then make four channel with the controls on the speakers.

If you want Dolby Digital for movies, you'll need to set the GTXP control panel to "PowerDVD Software Player", then you'd set the speakers to Dolby Digital mode and you should get decoded 4.1 sound (this set has no center channel so it will be artificially created by the front left and right channels).

It should work fine.

excellent, so setting the SPDIF to main and tweaking to speakers will give me quad speakers for gaming? will that be true surround?
