I have a problem with my Hercules Geforce2 Pro and Abit KT7-RAID. I bought these components a few days ago and put them together. When I booted up there was no video signal coming from the card. I replaced the card with a Matrox G400 MAX and it worked perfectly. I have heard that Hercules cards need more power and that the AGP slot of the ABit board is not providing enough power so the video does not appear on the screen. The fan of the Hercules card does operate when my machine is on. Please, if anyone knows anything about this issue post a response.

There are serious issues with the Hercules Pro and the KT7 ...in fact if you callup Guillemot/Hercules and talk with the video dept (which I personally have) they can verify this. The problem is they will offer to switch out your Pro for a regular GTS since they dont (at least as of 2 weeks ago) have any new Hercules Pro's with a KT7 hardware fix. So you will either have to:
a) play the waiting game for a new Pro
b) setttle for a regular GTS2 replacement
c) pay another $130 and get an Ultra cross-shipped to you
I settled for none of the above and sold the card to someone whose motherboard worked with it. If you need more details on this then check this link and/or contact me

I had a Pro and it ran fine on my KT7, i think ABIT has a fix for it, as i understand it when the Pro first came out it had some problems with the KT7 try Pauls KT7 FAQ i think it also has some answers for you.

I rember reading that a guy had the same problem and what he had to do was turn the computer and as soon as it hits the hard drive to boot hit the reset button and let it restart and it worked, good luck.........

It's a problem with the Pro not the KT7. I spoke with Guillemot/Hercules and they verified it was a harware glitch and not something I could fix by flashing either the vidcard or mobo BIOS. They made a new card to fix this problem but most of the Pro's out there now are probably older versions.
I did randomly get it to work by hook or by crook and when it was running it was super fast, but invariably the next morning when I booted up my computer I got no signal from the vidcard at all. The only soultion then is to open up the case and put in another card and warming things up then the Pro will sometimes kick in.
It's not something you want to deal with early in the morning (having to swap out vidcards just to check your e-mail), believe me that was why I resolved the situation fast.
