Hercules Game Theater XP + Win2000 = ?

Any users have experience with that setup? I'm currently running a live PLatinum. Really disapointing I might add. There driver support is pathetic.

I was wondering how you Hercules users are finding this card. I understand it has much better sound quality should go well with my V2 400s

question: what do you mean by pathetic driver support? SB drivers worked perfectly for me in win2k. Aureal is what has crappy support.. mainly because they're gone

but the reviews seem to favor the drivers current state.. however, the reviews link from herc's page has been greyed out for some reason..... wonder if anything is wrong w/ it...

Well for one thing I'm still having problems DX8 games. Namely Mech Warrior 4. Still having problems on my friends MSI Athlon board.

Also I'm not happy with the sound quality. I really enjoyed the quality of my SQ2500. Its a pity aureal went out of business or I would still be using that card.

I have it running in Windows 2000. It works, but their are some quirks with it. Not all the 3D sound stuff works, and in the Hercules properties app, when I set the speaker setup to "4 Speaker", then try to run the test, it will crash the app with a rundll32.dll error. But leaving it to "Stereo on 4 Speakers" works fine. I like it a lot though, great sound card. The rack is really cool.

I would also like to know how well this card works in win2k/winXP. My Acoustic Edge doesn't work well at all in 2k/XP and I'm thinking of trading someone.

Pretty good so far

The volume management controls for 2000 need work. It seems to adjust itself every so often. Hopefully the next driver version will fix it.
