I just bought this card and I realized that it is not compatible with linux or xfree86. Does anyone now of any drivers for this Kryo2 PowerVR chipset. I want to work with linux for my OS class and now I cant unless I buy a new comp with a nvidia chipset video card. But I cant afford it. Please let me know.

Thanks,

Aaron

they are suppose to be working on linux drivers, but they really havent given any updates on the progress. Now that the PowerVR SDK has been made publically available, I think you will see more linux support soon(ish)

If you need Linux return the KyroII ASAP and get something else. If normal driver releases are any indication of there speed you wont see them until 2003.

linman, at ECTS PowerVR told me they are working on Linux drivers but they couldn't tell me when they'd be out so if you need linux right now then you'll have to return the board.

Mykex, for god sake man stop bitching about driver releases🙂 You make it sound as if the last updated driver was a years ago or something. There were new drivers leaked about a week ago and the last official drivers were released 2 months ago thats hardly slow is it?
