Hi,

I have the aforementioned card. It does fine cept for two things:

1) I can't set my screen to 1280x1040. Am I being limited by my monitor (getting an LCD soon) or is it the card's max rez in windows xp?

2) I still can't get the TV out to work.
Scrolling black and white screen of death on the boot up.
I switched it to NTSC from PAL and same effect....

Any help with this would be great. I'd like to run on a 1280x1040 cuz it'd be kinda a waste of an LCD and money (assuming I'd have to get a new card just for the LCD =P)

Thanks.

I used to have a Gigabyte 8500LE. The highest resolution I can set is 1600x1200@75Hz. It's my monitor's limitation. You probably should check your monitor INF.

Can't help you with the TV out problem, never use it.

A piece of advice regarding buying a new LCD. Get one with DVI. The difference will amaze you.

hey, my 3d Prophet FDX 8500LE does the same thing (the scrolling TV OUT thing) if you manage to fix it, let me know the secrets. Perhaps it's just a Hercules thing.

I can go up to the 1600 resolution on Return to castle wolfenstein and it plays without a hitch. I have the ATI 8500le with 64mb. In regards to the S-Video out on the card, i usually can plug into a tv and it immediately puts what is on my monitor on the tv as well. its great, I can take my pc to my friends house and plug it right up to his hdtv and we can play unreal. He doesn't have a pc or a monitor just the tv.
