Well the movie itself looks good and I could care a less about that. She is just a person like everyone else.

Nope, still the same old Herbie. A bunch of people on VW lists were really upset because Disney was looking for a bunch of Beetles from the same year so they could use them for stunts in the movie.
Saw the preview before HHGTTG, and it looks like it will be entertaining, if dumb.

No. The original movies were passable at best, alright flicks but nothing I would've paid to see in a theater, I certainly won't be paying for some bubblegum piece of LL garbage.

Yeah, pretty much. 1963 Sunroof Beetles in decent shape are hard to come by these days 😛

IIRC Herbie was played by a few different years of VW. Didn't think they'd be too specific about the year of the car.

Not a remake. It's another in the series (just that they recycled the title). Dean Jones has a cameo or two in it. It also explains the origin of Herbie. Kinda. Since the explanation doesn't really jive with the original movies. Ah well.

They can wreck all the post '73 Super Beetles they want for all I care 😛 most people wouldn't notice the differences.

My brother-in-law had a '63 Sunroof that he turned into Herbie. Paintjob was fantastic, too bad everything else on the car was falling off 😛

I'm obligated to see this movie as I own two aircooleds.
