any fans of henry rollins? SPOKEN WORD, not the band.

if you like rollins, who else do u like? not talking about black flag....talking about his spoken word.

Was about to say.... I VERY much enjoy his spoken word, but the music isnt for me.

I love to see him in random movies, he just seems like such a cool guy.

I loved Black Flag - I saw them live at least 4 times when I was in high school - but I find his persona and his spoken-word performances a little tiresome. He just seems to take himself way too seriously.

:beer:, growing up in DC in the 80?s it seemed like everyone listens to Black flack or Minor threat and Bad brains around here. I?ve got to support my local musicians.

I like punk (Bad Religion, NOFX, etc), but haven't listend to Black Flag yet. Always told myself I would but keep pushing it off. Don't know why...

Black Flag's "Damaged" is a really stunning album. It's very dark, but it has great emotional sincerity and it makes a powerful statement. That is probably the best place to start.

I think that's the gist of his appeal for most of his audience (myself included).

Good recommendation. One of my all time favorite albums. So many great songs Rise Above, TV Party, Depression, Six Pack.
