I updated windows with the typical plethora of security updates for IE and the like on my windows xp home machine. As you al prolly know, after doing such an update one needs to restart windows for the changes to take affect.

Well, I forgot how incredibly annoying the windows reminder dialog can be that asks if you want to 'restart windows now' or 'ask me later'.

I don't want to restart windows now, maybe not for a few days. Do you know if there's a way to turn off this windows nag?

Thanks --- :)

Too bad it's WinXP Home. WinXP Professional would let you knock that thing on the head for good using gpedit.msc.

If it helps anyone that has XP Pro, you would log on as an Admin and Start > Run > gpedit.msc, then expand Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update and set Re-prompt for restart with scheduled installations to Disabled or to a very long non-henpecking interval of your choice.
