Free shipping on all Kitchen & Housewares orders over $150.

Doesn't seem that hot to me but maybe someone will get in on this.

Great post!!! These knives are about $80 more everywhere else. There is a rebate for a set of free steak-knives as well.

Thanks, Mangos -- nice find!:D

As many of you might know that Lechters is going out of business. They are down to the last final days. If you are lucky enough they might still have some henckels instock. I think the discounts right now is 30%-50% now. One of the stores that I went to today have 50%-70% off cuz its like 3 days left. But all that is left is junk. So go check them out.

I got the same knifes right here. I think i got them at costco last year for only 160 or 170 though. Really good knife blade though.

How many men (stars) are those knifes? I know 5 or 6 men is the best quality...

Don't know where they got that high list price. It sells everywhere for $299. I just bought a set. But the price at Amazon is $49 cheaper. Good find!! Thanks!

Hey -

Nice price on that set... but also check out the Henckels 5 Star knives. MUCH more comfortable handles, and the blades are better, too (IIRC). The Pro S series is nice, but consider getting fewer of the 5 Stars instead of the Pro S set. With one paring, one 6" utility, 8" chefs, and 8" bread you are at about the same price or less, and really have NICE knives that probably cover all you needs.

OK, I'll stop being Martha Stewart now. I just have to admit that I love those darn knives...

P.S. I got mine about a year ago from cutleryandmore.com (no, I'm not affiliated) - just checked and they have this 5 star set for $330 with the free steak knives and a free kitchen fork.

Hehe.. If you can afford to spend $250 on knives, maybe you don't need to come to Hot Deals at all :)

There should be only TWO men on these knives.

Henckels have two separate product lines, one is the "value" line which can typically be found at Target and other common "discount" stores. That line of knives only feature one man on the logo.

The other product line of knives features two men and are considered to be of higher quality. Common types of Henckels knives in this category include the 4-Star, the 5-Star, the Twinstar, and the Pro-S series. Each one has its own qualities, and which one is the "best" can only be judged by personal preference. For instance, people with smaller hands might prefer the 4-Star due to its smaller size and weight. The 5-Star offers a special handle design that might be attractive for some. The stars are not a rating system and do not reflect necessarily the quality of the knives.

If you want the "best" knifes, I would suggest trying out all the different product lines yourself (I did so at the local Williams-Sonoma store) so you know which one feels the best and offers the best combination of weight and balance.
