i have my RAM installed, CPU, and my motherboard in place... i also have my video card in...
wanted to try and see what do i get... well nothing so far, the fan turns on for 1 second when i press the power on and that;s it. Even if i try it 50 more times i don't get anything, i have to unplug and replug the power.
just wondering what could be the problem, what was so fun all this mornig is getting frustrating now :/
i have an Asus A7v
the system panel connectors, has Power LED, Speaker, Message led, SMI lead, PW switch and reset switch connectors... in my case, i have Power Led, Speakers PW switch and reset switch, the last one i have says H.D.D 1, i don't know where to plug this one.
And from my case, i have the usual cables, one for the motherboard, many for drives and stuff, 1 for a floppy and another small three pin one which i don't know what to do with this since my case didn't come with any instructions.

If anyone could help i would appreciated, cause i am really lost? anything i am forgetting?

liek i said, everytime i plug in the power cord and the monitor, i get a half spin from the fan and that's it, nothing in the monitor, nothing in the computer....

Check your voltage settings , make sure the power leads are all in place.

The HDD1 is the connector for the IDE LED.

As for why your board is not turning on, try the following:
1) Remove and reinstall the memory, CPU, AGP cards. Make extra sure that they are inserted firmly. If one of these components is not firmly inserted, you'll get nothing.

2) Remove all unecessary cards (NIC, sound card, etc). This is prevent any possible IRQ conflict.
