I just put together my new PC, athlon 2600 XP 333mhz fsb, 512mb ddr pc2700 333mhz, epox nforce 2 mobo with 333fsb. When i start the PC the bios only will let me turn the memory frequency is at 166mhz (DDR333). Now, is that right? Cuz i thought the ram was 333mhz....or is that what it means when it says DDR333?

That's right. DDR = Double Data Rate, so while the memory runs at 166 mhz, it is sending 2 pieces of information to the cpu per clock cycle, effectively doubling its actual frequency. So, 166x2=333 mhz.

now the tricky thing is that its only "333 MHz" in 1 direction... receiving from the northbridge its still 166 MHz.
