Helppp a noob--printer trouble

Hi everyonee

i need help getting my printer back into working condition. A few days ago, Juno internet decided I needed a new version, so it downloaded an update in the background without my consent. (still pissed at that)

Now that it's updated, my computer feels a bit laggy, but the worst part is my printer stopped working. The computer can't detect the printer anymore, and when I tried deleting my printer through control panel and re-installing it, windows can't find a printer.

My printer is a HP 932C deskjet, still uses the humongous cable (parallel port i think?). I like this printer very much...it's served us well for 3 whole years without a hiccup.

is there any other info I can provide to help diagnose the prob? Please let me know

Many thanks,

Jon🙂

i need to get this printer working tonight...got some papers to print out 🙁

can anyone offer any solutions to try to get my printer workin?

anyone know how to get a connection between printer<--->computer reestablished? my computer can't even detect anything attached to the LPT1 port. HELPP!!!

Check in the bios for connections, maybe juno displaced it somehow.

I don't know what juno does but delete it off of your tray on the right bottom of the screen

LiLithTecH: Yes! that's the printer. I'm using Windows XP with SP2. I don't know why i'm not using USB...i guess it was cheaper back then to use parallel port. It never had problems before...

Steaksauce: I'll check the BIOS again...and i can't delete it off my tray, else I get disconnected. I gotta live with a little tray icon AND the dang "JUNOBAR" at the top. ugh...

no dsl offered in my area. 😡

oh how lame. It works now after I went into the bios. Apparantly, the Parallel Port had been DISABLED. I re-enabled that, and now it works.

Makes me wonder...why does JUno do this kinda crap? It even made me install some Promise Fastrack controller thing. Some kinda "update" that was on Juno's part.

thanks guys for replying again
