Helping Paulson out a little with some layout - your opinions please?

This is the beginnings of a "theme" for Paulsons stuff.
I'd appreciate your take on it. It's just the rough outline, but you'll get the idea.

Looks great! Two minor qualms though. I think the text "Distributed Computing" doesn't really flow with the rest of the page. It may be a little flashy/curvey compared to the rest. The other is the g overlapping onto the white, it offers somewhat poor contrast. The text may fit in nicely though, compared to what the rest of the page offers. Keep up the good work, it is coming along nicely!

I think the navigation bar on the left may be a bit too wide. It will probably cut off things from the main site and force people to scroll, atleast those with smaller monitors/lower resolutions. Otherwise, looks like your off to a good start.
 
I agree with dirtboy. The navbar on the left is too wide. To see why I believe that, set your screen resolution to 640x480, or even 800x600 and you'll see what I mean.
 
It's designed for 800x600 - I didn't say rip it apart - it's not a complete site. Just the look and feel...

besides... who runs 640x480 anymore?

I'm doing 1152x864.

800x600 is standard these days - can't optimize for every strange brew out there 🙂

Don't work with it yet... just your opinion. I'll tell you how to work with it.. 🙂
 
I like it, looks good. Only suggestion I have is allow it to expand with larger resolutions, that way the red line across the top and the left side will not just stop in the middle of the window

I can make this a whole lot easier to use if you'll put the binders on a little. It's not even remotely ready for prime time.

Give me a day or two - I'll make it plenty easy.

(now in glorious 1600 x 1200 32bit on a voodoo banshee)
