Ok my moms friend needs help with her computer again. I went over to her house and look at the problem. She has a cable modem..a router...and a dell.
she just got it back from her work where they had it to install norton antivirus corp edition. THey plugged it in and the connection to the interent was no longer there..
After looking at it..i realized she put the phone line in the network card and had both ends of the ethernet cable plugged into the routher lol...
anyway i fixed that up and got all the wires plugged in correctly. But it still didnt work. She had problems before with the modem so i restarted it and such but it didnt work. Then stupid me..i reliazed that the computer wasnt realizing that it had a ethernet cable plugged in at all, and that the lights in the back where the NIC card is wernt flashing. So i reinstalled the drivers for the NIC and that didnt work. Am i right in assuming that the Network card is dead or slightly out of the PCI slot?
