Helping frined put together a comp

Ok so my frined needs a new comp. he buget is about $1800. he needs everything but monitor. the two thing he told me he must have 1) Intel @3.4 at the minimum(why i dont know) 2) this AGP video card. This comp wll be used for apps and slight gaming here and there. Games like rollercoster tycoon. The only problem is it MUST BE INTEL ive tryed all i could to get him to go the amd but he wont budge. so please dont tell me to go talk him into going amd i have tryed all ive could. so with the info provided and you please sugest a good system with this budget. thanks eveyone

Substiute the AGP video card for PCI Express, and save $100 buy buying it here:

You could also get cheaper ram, 3.4ghz cpu, and ditch the OS and sound card. Also change monitor... anyway its a good start on a nice spec intel system. That would bring it back near the $1800 budget.
