My friend got a new laptop and she cannot connect to her home network.

She can connect to other networks.
She cannot connect to her home network.
Everybody else can connect to her home network.

She has Vista. Other laptops able to connect her network are Vista, XP, and OSX.

Any idea?

If she has encryption on the network have her reset the encryption on her computer (ie the network key) and try that. Make sure she's using the Windows Default Wireless Connection stuff, it usually gives no problems.

She has reentered the network key multiple times. She did the same on a different computer and it worked, confirming she is using the right key.

Could it possibly be some kind of weird quirk between the router and her wireless card?

Ouch, I'm an idiot.

I assumed she had tried unplugging the router first, but she didn't. Unplugging the router fixed the problem.

I fail as "the computer guy".
