Hey everyone. A friend of mine has a very low budget but would like to build a PC, he is currently looking to buy this:

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 ATX AMD Motherboard $71
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 1GHz FSB 512KB L2 Cache $169

He has a HD, 512 of PC3200 RAM, and a Radeon 9800 Pro AGP (from his old rig) that he will be saving.

But he needs a case and PSU and is almost at the end of his budget already. Are there any good combo's out there or two cheap individual parts? Thank you so much.

EDIT:

This looked interesting, maybe a little expensive for him, but figured I'd see what you guys thought:

Antec Solution SLK3000-B $49
FSP Group ATX400-PA version 2.0, SATA, 400W $37

starwars7, the 3800B is a great case, roomy and 120mm intake & exhaust. Be warned though, the drive door is "flimsy," so if your friend isn't careful, it won't last long IMO. As for the PS you linked to, I don't have any experience w/ it, so I'll let others opine.

I don't have any experience with that PSU either, but I do have a similar PSU (same wattage rating, bottom-mounted 120mm fan, hex-grill rear panel). It's been working great for me so far, and Fortron/Sparkle PSUs have a pretty good reputation.

(since SPCR is down right now)

With the SLK3000B, Antec has created about the best modestly priced case for the mod-wary silent PC enthusiast. Only the Evercase 4252 poses any real challenge. Some people may grouse about the cosmetics, but the cosmetics don't affect the performance, and it is a subjective judgment anyway. Objectively speaking, the SLK3000B is a great case for building a quiet PC.

Similar to what you have there is the Antec combo package for just a few dollars less and I like both PSU and case a bit more ... but that's just an opinion :)

It has their Antec SmartPower 2.0 400 Watt power supply (more than enough power for what he's doing, nice for future expansion, and with modular cable)

The third option - check your local frys / comp usa / etc for whatever their cheap case is and add the Antec SmartPower 2.0 400 Watt which is on sale at Zip Zoom Fly at the moment for 39.99 (after rebate) with free shipping (plus tax in CA).

Good luck.

EDIT: I was thinking SLK-1600/1650. Disregard this post.

Totally different model than the one he linked to. No door.

I had the SLK-3000 (before the B), same except for no side vent and a 92mm instead of 120mm exhaust fan. As much as I liked it, it was $15 after rebate at Fry's. I wouldn't pay $70 (after shipping) for that case.

Look hard and long at local computer stores. You may pay more retail for a case, but remember it's 15-20 bucks for shipping unless they've got a good deal going online.
