Yes, and in that time anyone who was dumb enough to whine that they got caught breaking the slavery laws was probably told to STFU and go to jail. They knew the risks. They broke the law. They got caught.

My point isn't that the laws are right or wrong - it's that people bitch up a storm about "crooked cops" and whatnot when they're caught breaking them. I don't care whether or not you believe in the law - you'd better understand the consequences of not following them.
