Helped needed on getting win2k pro to install w/o ACPI on

I installed win2k pro and everything ran fine, except some of my games. I talked to someone else with the same ati radeon video card I have and he said it was because win2k was installed in ACPI mode and that if i install it in "Standard PC" mode. How do I get to select this opion, b/c I have tried a couple times and it never gave me that opion, the only opion it gave me was to choose whether or not I wanted to use NT File System (NTFS) or the regular windows file system. What do I need to do?
