HELP

i had ordered teh ASUS A7M266 and the AMD athlon thunderbird 1.33ghz cpu...fedex comes today i take every thing out...go to put the cpu into the ziff and it doenst fit...the pin grid array is differnt...WTF are there different versions of the AMD 1.33ghz cpu or the ASUS A7M266 or something that i totally missed before ordering this stuff....this is btw the first AMD cpu i have ever tried...adn suggestions or help that you guys can post would be greatly appreciated.

Weird. I have a friend who just built the exact same
rig (board and cpu that is). Are you sure you're installing
it the right way, ie not rotated?

yeah i feel like an idiot for posting this cuz its just freaking wacked....i think asus may have mounted the wrong ziff to the mobo?...i am clueless and annoyed...lol

you had to push it? it's a ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) socket.
weirdness abounds. but hey I'm glad for ya.
