I'm building a PPRO machine right now (150mhz), and after I installed the chip into the mobo, it gives me a series of long beeps when booting...doesn't post or anything. What does that usually mean?

Rob

Motherboard is unknown...I see the markings SL-60a on it, FWIW.

Not that I know the answer but I do believe that you need to tell how many beeps since you should be able to find a qualified answer to that in the manual or on the homepage for the mobo.

No manual, etc., it is just a machine that is laying around here at the office, and I'm supposed to reconstruct it. :p

And the beeps just keep going...and going...

Sounds like it's probably a RAM problem. Try a different stick of memory in the machine (or, if you have multiple sticks in there, try them one at a time to see if you can find the bad stick).

Hope this helps.
