Should i start all over and pull everything out? all devices seem to work

Likely a network setting. Go into tcp/ip configuration and give NIC a static private IP address in 192.168.0.x range, mask 255.255.255.0. It's likely set at getting address from DHCP server, and it looks for a few minutes before deciding that none is available.
