for a BS college class. I am currently using this variable capacitor for the tuner. However, I don't have any specs more detailed then there are on that page. In short: Does it matter if I plug it in backwards?

As I understand it, most variable capacitors work by rotating metal plates in such a way that there is more "overlap" at some angles than others.

With a simple metal plate capacitor, polarity is not an issue and it won't matter if you plug it in backwards.

Plug it into a DMM with a capacitance function and test the capacitance at the different positions to figure out the specs for yourself, it'll be fairly easy and shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
