Thanks for the help. just ordered the E1705 w/ true life screen also a few more bell and whistles for 1,345 . Just called the rep and told him I was interested in buying one and about the president day sales and just give me the best price possible ended up 1,345 woot, found out the first one didnt have a 7800. So just call a rep tell him about coupons and haggle abit . Thanks Bill

I have a dell 9300...its the same laptop just a different CPU. Mine is the truelife 19x16 screen and it is very nice...however it doesnt have a few minor quirks and drawbacks. Under certain lighting conditions the truelife screen can be somewhat reflective and at its native resolution I always seem to be fussing around with text sizes that are too small when im on the internet. I truely beleive that the standard display offering on the e1705 will do just fine for any and all uses.

Wow, your grammar puts my mind through a loop 😕

Not sure what you're asking about the screen, but the GPU cannot be modded. Does OC nicely tho!

That's a good price and a good laptop.
You certainly don't need the truelife screen to game.
Buy it before I do.
🙂

I recently got one with the following specs:
Intel Core Duo 2.0GHz
1GB Ram
Nvidia 7800go
True Life Screen (1920x1200)

I used a coupon from: http://www.meanbargains.com/dell/
and got $650 off.

Do yourself a favor and get the better screen, you will be in awe. Every person who sees mine is blown away by how crisp the better display is.

Either way, this laptop is great. I am extremely satisfied with it. Only drawbacks are the software it ships with, but that is all easily removed/disabled.
