First off I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, but this is the notebook forum.

I have a Micron GX+ laptop that has been working great until last night when I spilled some stupid Smirnoff Ice on it :( Now the Keyboard is dead. Everything else works as it did before. If I connect an external keyboard that works fine, but not one key on the built in keyboard works. Any suggestions on what to do? Is it possible that I could replace just the keyboard or is it likely some circuitry went bad on the controller and/or motherboard. This has been the best laptop I have owened (Even though it is a p3 800) and I can't part with it, but I need the keyboard to work.

Thank in advance for any suggestions.

You can usually buy replacement keyboards for most laptops. Search eBay, google it, and of course contact Micron. GL fixing it and just give me the Smirnoff from now on ;)

I did this on an old laptop before, but it was a beer lol. I don't think alcohol and computers should mix. I ended up removing the keyboard right away and just bought a new one. Or you could try the steps laid out on this site on how to clean it:

It might actually work...but the process of cleaning it will take a little time and patience! Also, I'd use distilled water instead of tap water...no minerals etc that might screw it up.
