HELP!!!

Ok, I just finished building my PC for the first time; everything seemed to go well until I powered it up.
Everything turned on, all the fans (3 case fans, CPU fan, video card fan, PSU fans), as well as the LEDS, I got one quick, quiet beep, and thats it. The computer kept running, but my monitor went into stand-by mode.

This is what I have in my computer:
MSI K8T Neo2
Athlon 64 3000+
XFX Geforce 6600GT
Maxtor SATA 80GB
OCZ DDR400 dual channel enhanced latency
420W PSU

I double checked everything, to make sure it's all connected, and from what I can tell it's all good. So I'm completely out of idea's as to what the problem could be.

Anyone have any suggestions?? 🙂 Has this happend to anyone before?

Thanks in advance

What brand of 420W PSU is it? Also, if your board doesn't have a BIOS version that supports 90nm Athlon64's, you are in an impasse.

Boy o boy. Welcome to the world of biding your own computer. I think just about every one that has built a computer has had this problem at one time or another including me. Any way to work we go. Does the monitor blink on and then off or does it just stay off? If you look at the front of the case is the HD light (RED) ON or OFF or does it just stay ON and never blinks. Does the light?s on the keyboard flash on and then off real fast? Look at that stuff and get back to me.

Just be cool with as many experts on here as there is, it well work soon enough.

Hey thanks for the replies guy 🙂 Appreciate it.

Onto my computer: I tried taking one RAM stick out, and it ended up working. But I think I screwed something up even more when I tried listening to one of my friends when I tried clearing the CMOS before getting this problem fixed (by switching the jumpers).

Anyways...what I get now is that when I try going into BIOS, I cannot select my Boot-Up sequence (it's just highlighted yellow, and can't do anything). Also, if I dont press anything, the PC goes through some routine and ends on "Insert Disk into drive A and press any key" or something to that effect.

I'll write a more detailed description later on tonight, because unfortunately I have to run to work now.

Thanks again.

ps. Ah, also, when I press [TAB] at one point (it's my very first option I believe) it goes into some screen and in the top right, it tells me that it can't "create a RAID"....?
