Have you ever bought an item that you thought was a great product but ended up being a POS ... a real dog? Well, I just spent the 4th removing rust and repainting the inner parts of my washing machine. When I bought the machine 3 years ago I thought it was a great deal for a replacement for my 15 year old unit that had served us well. Little did I know that the thing would start rusting away after just a few years. I contacted the OEM and they basically told me that they do not cover "rust". So, in honor of the OEM of my POS washing machine I thought I'd start a thread on recommendations for product NOT to buy.

Recommend NOT purchasing a Maytag (Whirlpool) washer of any type. Why? The OEM provides inadequate corrosion protection to the metal (steel) parts of their machines. Unprotected, they becomes rust buckets after just a few short years.

What about you?

I have a similar story with my KitchenAid dishwasher. Got the high end stainless steel model that replaced a similar 15 year old junker looking unit that served great.

This thing was awesome the first year, and quickly degraded after that. It leaves soap suds on the dishes and the door latch broke by the third year.

We cleaned out the filters many times, so it's not that. Ready to chuck the useless thing out.

JLG scissor lift, specifically their 2032E model. I didn't buy this personally, but my boss did, and even after replacing the batteries we had nothing but problems with it. Wouldn't hold a charge, hydraulic lines burst, just overall a bad product. I have been in quite a few other JLG lifts (their ES series is amazing in manueverablity) and was expecting so much. Don't know if our particular one was a lemon, but it soured my view of JLG ever since.

Had a similar issue with an LG stainless DW. It still works but the fact that the unit is stainless blinded me when I purchased it. I'll never buy an LG DW again.

I bought an AMD graphics card, it was shit! j/k

Hmm lets see, my sanyo TV is less than 3 years old and makes a weird buzzing noise, also the speakers broke. Sanyo are crap.

I have a miele washing machine. If you don't have miele you aren't worthy of owning a washing machine tbh

I do not recommend buying any sort of DLP TV. Not sure if they even still make them, but they suck and no matter the make, they are plagued with problems.

The worst product I have ever owned is my current car. A 2002 VW GTI 1.8T. It's main components are built well and it drives good, BUT every tiny thing on the car breaks, goes wrong, etc. It's flooded multiple times after a few heavy rains leaving a musty/moldy smell for months. The windows have FALLEN in the doors. The CEL light is on 90% of the time, but I typically just reset it to pass inspection. The driver's seat doesn't release/slide-forward properly. The seatbelt recepticles have "gone bad" throwing an airbag light preventing it from passing inspection. Replacing the front brake pads (not the rear), requires an odd special tool. The struts have gone bad like 3 times. Mechanics CONSTANTLY misdiagnose shit on it too. Constant fucking headaches.

I implore anyone considering buying a VW to avoid unless you like dealing with endless stupid shit.
