whats the symbol that looks like an E but is round. it looks like the end of a pitchfork (turned on its side, open side facing the right like an upper case E). like a left parentheses but with prongs. is it approximates? or something like that? i'm reading lecture notes and i totally forgot.

Yep. For example tE(0,2pi) means t belongs to the domain 0 to 2pi
