what does properly enabled mean? it's enabled..

it's wierd.. my friend sent me a direct link to a game.. and i clicked and that worked.. it's just when i go to the main http://games.yahoo.com page, i can't get any of those links to work.. i'm not sure why... ok.. i was playing around with it.. the links look like this

http://rd.yahoo.com/games/front/ts/?http://games.yahoo.com/games/downloads/ts.html

instead of the way it should be

http://games.yahoo.com/games/downloads/ts.html

so.. anyone nkow what that means? is it because my java isn't enabled correctly? minendo do you mind explaning how to do that?

thanks in advance, and thanks minendo for your help

you make any changes to your hosts file recently?

either that or install Kazaa Lite, and follow the directions about copying a hosts file?

depending on your operating system, this is out of the readme.txt that came with one of the newer versions of Kazaa Lite:

Win9x: c:\windows\hosts
Win2000/NT/XP: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts  or  c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

You should be able to open that file up in Notepad, or if you open up a command prompt window, switch to the directory that the hosts file is in, and then type 'edit hosts' to edit the file. Then search for a line like this:

127.0.0.1 rd.yahoo.com

delete those references, save the file, and it should work for you again.

Not a problem.... I ran into the same thing myself recently after installing kazaa lite and using their hosts file that they provided.
